Job Analysis

A job analysis is an on-site analysis of a specific job.  The Job Analysis will answer the question, “What are the physical and/or cognitive demands of the job?” The job analysis can assist in return to work planning, workplace accommodation, vocational planning and post hire screening.

Ergonomic Assessment

An ergonomic assessment is an effective prevention or accommodation strategy that provides a comprehensive analysis of the work environment. Be it office based or an industrial setting, the ergonomic assessment provides recommendations on how to maximize human performance while promoting the well being of the worker. An ergonomic assessment will survey a worker’s symptoms, identify the essential tasks, assess for risk, identify controls and provide recommendations for workplace safety and injury prevention or accommodation.

Functional Capacity Evaluations

This intensive, short-term evaluation follows a systemized approach to objectively measure a client’s abilities related to musculoskeletal strength, endurance, speed and flexibility as well as the client’s workday tolerance. Evaluations are completed over a one or a two-day period with the aim of measuring a client’s reliability and effort and general physical abilities or those specific to a particular job. The Functional Capacity Evaluation can be used to assist with the determination of permanent work restrictions, vocational planning and return to work coordination.

Baseline Status Assessment

This 4-6 hour assessment follows a systemized approach to objectively measure the client’s reliability and effort and general baseline physical abilities. The Baseline Status Assessment can be used to assist with early case management, return to work coordination and as a baseline assessment for entry into a Work Hardening Program.

Vocational Evaluation

A vocational evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that enables the evaluator to formulate a precise job match by testing the client’s aptitudes and interests. The evaluation includes a file review, an intake interview, aptitude testing, academic testing, interest testing and work samples. Job matching is completed using the results of the testing protocols and the work history. The results will identify the client’s present abilities and their potential to succeed with further academic training. The report will provide details of the potential employment options along with details of physical demands, wage ranges, wage averages, training requirements and local availability.

Transferable Skills

A transferable skills analysis is one component of a vocational evaluation or is available as a stand-alone service and can be completed with or without a client interview. The former includes a file review and interest testing and the latter includes only a file review of the client’s past work experience to develop a composite profile and possible job matches. The identified job matches will include information regarding the physical demands, wage ranges, wage averages and training requirements.

The Local Availability survey is a comprehensive search of available employment opportunities that match the client’s worker qualification profile as well as the client’s place of residence. This service, which is normally a component of the comprehensive vocational evaluation, is also offered as a stand-alone document.
